Custom Foot Orthotics in Ottawa & Vancouver
At our SoleFit clinics in Kanata, Ottawa and Kitsilano, Vancouver, all of our custom foot orthotics are handmade in our on site laboratory. This ensures that your Certified Pedorthist , a foot care specialist, controls the process from start to finish to ensure a perfect fit. When foot orthotics are necessary, we take the time to ensure our patients understand how their custom orthotics fit into their overall treatment plan. From plantar fasciitis to bunion treatment, custom made foot orthotics can provide substantial relief when used properly. We take great pride in our craftsmanship and stand behind our custom made orthotics. We include a 6 month warranty on our custom orthotics and encourage our clients to return for adjustments if required at no charge during that period.

Through our assessment and gait analysis, we will determine if custom orthotics are right for you. If deemed necessary, a three dimensional plaster foot cast will be taken during your appointment in order for us to fabricate your custom foot orthotics. Our fabrication turnaround time is excellent, and you can expect to be fitted for your custom orthotics one week after your foot cast is taken. Guidance and education on footwear choices and fit issues will be given, to ensure you can purchase ‘orthotic friendly’ footwear. Your Certified Pedorthist will take the time to fit your orthotics to your footwear and go over a break-in period with you to ensure your comfort and healing. From there, we include a 1 year warranty period where follow up appointments and adjustments are complimentary. We encourage our clients to give us feedback and will do our best to ensure your custom orthotic insoles are helpful to your condition and comfortable for use everyday.
We use a variety of different materials in our onsite lab, from standard thermoplastic options to the ultra-thin and lightweight carbon fibre. Top cover materials are cushioned and comfortable or thin and sleek. Depending on your condition and footwear, we can make custom orthotics fit almost anything!
TREATING YOUR INJURIES HOLISTICALLY
Custom made orthotics can make a huge difference when necessary. We also take great pride in ensuring that we educate the patient in understanding the role orthotics play in the overall fixing of the injury/problem. Orthotics can occasionally be a lifetime necessity but are often only necessary as a treatment tool if necessary steps are being taken to fix the true source of the injury. Our 1 hour assessment gives us time to properly assess and make recommendations as to how orthotics can be used as part of a treatment plan (check our short video here).

Custom Foot Orthotics FAQ
There is no industry standard for orthotics pricing so it is up to the individual clinic to establish the worth of their product. As a patient, it is important that you check the credentials of your orthotics provider (are they a Certified Pedorthist) and if possible, get references from family, friends, colleagues who are happy with their orthotics. Be careful of clinics that charge extra for adjustments and paperwork - these SHOULD come with the price of your orthotics. Some patients need adjustments, some don’t and you won’t know which category you fall into before you wear them.
Fit Seamlessly Into Your Lifestyle
At SoleFit Ottawa and Vancouver, we cringe at the idea of a custom orthotic not being worn because it doesn’t fit in your footwear. If foot orthotics are necessary, it is imperative that they fit in the shoes that are giving you the most difficulties. Footwear information and selection is a major part of our assessment process but we realize that you’re not always going to be wearing the most ideal shoes. We have over 10 different shell materials and over 40 different orthotic top cover materials to ensure the orthotics fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. At SoleFit, custom truly means custom!
